To commemorate World Cat Day, KARIMOKU CAT has released a new colour, "Greige & Smoked Oak." 

Smoked Oak reproduces the expression and texture of the fumigation staining method used in Denmark since the 1950s, using Karimoku Furniture's painting technology. The dark colour is characterised by a natural, transparent hue that retains the texture of the wood and beautifully expresses natural shades.

The Karimoku Cat Tree was designed by Yoh Komiyama with the concepts of health and beauty through vertical movement. By creating steps in oval shapes without corners cats can safely demonstrate their sense of balance when jumping.

The Karimoku Cat Tree is a 2020 iF Design Award Winner. The 124cm high tower with a triangle pedestal is useable by both kittens and elderly cats, and the form is compact enough to fit in anywhere in your room. Cotton ropes are used in the scratching post. The linear and soft design will blend into any Western or Eastern style rooms providing a comfortable favourite product to cats.

The step surfaces covered with fabric have a water repellent finishing that allows easy maintenance, even if your cat regurgitates. The surface of the wooden steps uses a traditional Uzukuri process to add texture to the wood to make it less slippery for cats.

This Cat Tree is full of the craftsmanship that Karimoku has cultivated throughout its history. Karimoku Cat is a collaboration between RINN, who design from a cat's perspective and Karimoku, who has been making stunning wood furniture since the 40's. Replaceable parts are available making this a long lasting, beautiful piece of furniture.
